For the full article http://www.onion.com.au/article/3674 This month’s mix was a hard one to compile. I had SO many amazing tunes in the last month to filter out! I have to say though, I am very happy with the outcome. I think it creates a good vibe, and represents everything that I intended Innerbeing to be about. It starts off very chilled and funky, then goes through some uplifting psy which I like to think bridges the gap for general trance fans to get into psy trance, then gets nice and deep. With that Elvis leg shake that you just have to do when you listen to funky bass orientated psy! Not to mention some tracks with great voice samples for those positive subliminal messages. After much anticipation, I am excited to bring you Innerbeing Volume 3! This episode is a special one, with some new tunes which are absolute anthems, and some fantastic remixes of some old classics. I had so many tunes I wanted to include in this mix that I had to cut out so that it would fit as a CD length promo! So what is in here, is only the absolute best! There will be another Innerbeing mix next month as a special edition to celebrate the launch of the Innerbeing Club Nights I am starting. They will be a bi-monthly show, that showcases the style I have on the promo mixes, and the artists and DJ's who are like minded with music. For those that can attend the shows in person, it won't just be a matter of watching DJ's play. There will be an all round experience for you to enjoy! Key Tunes I would like to mention in this mix are: DJ Ange - Seamless. Stomping in at number 11 on the Beatport charts, this tune, as part of the Seamless EP has been doing wonders! DJ Ange has been releasing some gold tunes lately, infact 3 of which have been in the top 10 on Beatport and Trackitdown. Hence why I have booked her for the headline act for the upcoming Innerbeing launch party; just before she jets away from Australia and off to the UK! Guy Moor - In this Love feat Lauren Neko. Guy is a local Adelaide producer, I have featured his work before, but previously he was more progressive. This tune is an uplifting Trance stormer, with the delightful vocals of another local Adelaide talent, Lauren Neko; this tune is a must to check out! Rafael Frost - Flashback. Tech Trance slammer alert! Spine tingling tech trance that reaches deep within you. If you ever play this to a dancefloor and it doesn't go off, then you must be playing to crowd of RnB fans because this is one of the best tunes of the year! Ummet Ozcan - Next Phase. Wow! As with Flashback, this is another Tech Trance slammer! This is what trance is all about. Of course all the other tunes on here are stand out tracks, as most of you know, I'm very fussy when picking my tunes, so anything on here is the absolute benchmark of trance in 2010. I hope you enjoy, and please, shoot me some feedback, I love to hear how the mixes make you feel and what you think. About James CorbettJames Corbett has been dedicated to building the club scene and creating a real musical presence in Adelaide for nearly a decade. Tech and Hard styles were his signature sound circa 2003, making his debut playing Tech House at E&I LOUNGE - the rest was history. Although there’s too many to mention, James has been playing in Adelaide’s various hot spots such as Cargo, Mojo West, Earth, HQ, Savvy, Bunka, and Live which is really only naming a few. James brought life and music to these clubs not only via technics techniques, but through dedicated promotion of clubs, events and artists alike, on inthemix.com.au, as Adelaide’s State Promotions’ Coordinator. A mentor in his own right, James has always welcomed and guided new talent into the scene. In line with his community ethic, James has helped organise and play at one of Adelaide’s only local and environmentally focused music festivals, Overflow at the Bay, and was an onstage star at the institutional gay-community event, Sleazeball. It’s this positive involvement in the community that has earned James the respect from fellow DJ’s, Producers and Promoters, both upcoming and those who have been in the scene for years. Eventually James took a bold step away from mass promotion to pursue his music career in more depth. This saw him manage the music schedules and bookings for artists such as Rank 1, Mark Sherry, plus numerous big name International acts at Earth Nightclub. Other than showing you the latest and greatest tracks, Innerbeing also highlights that spiritual balance can come through awareness and music alike, particularly through genres like Psy -Trance. James’ connected and global awareness has brought him to some of his career highlights, including playing at Reconnect Festival, the last Enchanted Forest party, Overflow at the Bay, Sleazeball and many other big name events. But his developed passion is trying to elevate the Tech and Psy Trance scene in Adelaide, hosting and playing at events such as Psy-ence Fiction.
